Our Food Business Unit began with the production of Miwon, the Korean fermented seasoning, and developed to include traditional foods like jang (paste sauces) and kimchi as well as frozen/chilled foods, processed meats, westernized foods, and more. Daesang is now widely recognized as Korea’s representative general food company. Moreover, the Food Business Unit has a valuable global sales network based on Miwon’s popularity throughout Southeast Asia and the strength of Chungjungone and Jongga’s brand power.
Daesang has successfully created a healthy food culture with the help of customers despite the saturation of the domestic food market in the last few years. The company will continue its global expansion by actively pursuing localized marketing strategies in Indonesia, Vietnam, and other parts of Southeast Asia as well as China, United States, etc.
We have come far, but we will continue to strive for change and innovation to ensure Daesang is a success when it reaches its 100th anniversary.
Daesang is committed to returning our customers’ unwavering interest and loyalty with sustained growth, and we hope to have your support in the future.
Co-CEO and Director
As Korea’s leader in the food industry, Daesang Corp.’s Ingredients Business Unit operates the Bio, Starch Sugar, and Lysine businesses with each focusing on different products and purposes. The Bio business includes amino acid and chlorella ingredients as well as the seasoning first made in 1956 with wholly Korean fermentation technology. The Starch Sugar business produces a variety of dietary, functional, and industrial ingredients using carbohydrate processing technology. Lastly, the Lysine business involves the application of manufacturing technology for amino acids which are an essential part of biological functions.
Daesang also has a worldwide presence, having first gained prominence in 1973 as the first Korean company to set up manufacturing facilities overseas.
More recently, we expanded and improved production bases in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, etc. to become a global corporation. Based on the strength of our global network, we will continue efforts to grow in a fiercely competitive global market. We will pursue our goal of becoming a top 10 ingredients company with world-class technology, quality, and service.
Going forward, our Ingredients Business Unit will provide unwavering value to customers, fulfill its social responsibilities, and create a corporate culture that brings talented and creative people together to realize their dreams through innovations in management.
